Dearest Karina ... thank-you so much for your thoughts and prayers. It is so comforting to know that you are thinking of us. My family personally have not been directly affected by the flooding but it has been catastrophic for so many people. It has been dubbed "a flood of biblical proportions" and the ongoing economic and personal loss is enormous. I count myself blessed that our home has not been affected but it is surrounding us and this may be flooding that has never been seen before in Queensland. We currently cannot return home because the airport and roads are closed so you feel uneasy and sad that this is happening and in awe at the power of nature. Some people have had their homes completely inundated with flood waters and they are no longer habitable and the health issues are going to be an ongoing problem. Thank-you for thinking of us and if anyone knows disaster it is you Karina and we feel your strength. There are currently more severe thunderstorms in the area predicted so there is more to come.
