Lookbook

I love magazines that do a "lookbook" kind of page. Domino was wonderful about doing this and, for me, when I was decorating my own house back when, I loved looking at photos of beautiful rooms and then seeing what furnishings they picked out that you could buy to achieve the same "look." In other words, you could "shop the look."

Elle Decor Magazine started an online "lookbook" in partnership with 1stdibs. And this is how it works, you go to their link and then click on a room you like, like the one below from the January issue.

The photo will provide you with all the information regarding the designer, etc. and then the side bar gives you the option to "shop the look." There, you will find amazing pieces to buy to recreate that look in your own home, including items from disegno Karina Gentinetta such as these that were tagged by Elle Decor:

So with all this "lookbook" inspiration, I thought I'd perhaps try my hand at doing my own version of it. Using photos from pinterest as shared by Claudia Strasser of the Paris Apartment blog, I'd thought I'd give it a try.

I hope you enjoyed this "lookbook" and that you founds lots of inspiration for your own decor.

But before I sign off, I wanted to share this wonderful post my new friend and talented writer, Bart Boehlert, wrote on his blog, Bart Boehlert's Beautiful Things, regarding last weeks's exciting grand opening party of the 1stdibs@NYDC floor at 200 Lexington Avenue featuring, among others, moi -- disegno Karina Gentinetta. Thanks, Bart! I agree that it was quite an exciting evening.
